For the beginning of the year of the cat according to the lunar calendar, I created this illustration based on a photo of my client's two children.
This illustration contains the 5 elements of Phong Thuy: Wood (the element of the boy's birth year), Earth (the element of the girl's birth year), Fire (the color of the áo dài worn by the children), Metal (the color of the cat), Water (the rivers formed by the pages of the books).
The avocados and chayotes represent the children's nicknames (Bơ and Susu). Naming children with nicknames is a common practice in Vietnamese families. The buffalo and dog represent the birth years of the two children.
